The plan....

Today, I am proposing to my boyfriend Chris. I had planned an elaborate treasure hunt of clues that he would find while playing disc golf with some friends at George Ward Park. However, circumstances and the weather conspired to foil that plan, so I had to scramble to create a Plan B. Chris had agreed to help my brother tile his basement rec room and was planning to leave the house early Saturday morning. So, instead of finding the clues and treasures along the golf course, I planted them throughout our house.

After he went to bed, I planted three of the five clues at various places where he would be sure to find them in the morning. The first was in the bathroom with his contact solution, the second was on a TV tray in the kitchen in front of the back door, and the third was in his car.

While he was working, I was busy setting up for the rest of the day. I had reserved the Vulcan View suite at Hotel Highland and planned to surprise him with the proposal once he arrived at the hotel. Then, we would hopefully celebrate our engagement with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Chez Fon Fon.

I've packed a bag for the hotel, set up clue number 4 on the TV tray in the kitchen in front of the back door, where he will be sure to find it, and will shortly drop Tanhdi off to spend the night with a friend. Then, I'll head to the hotel to wait for his text for the address, as instructed by the fourth clue. When he arrives at the hotel room, he will find the fifth and final clue, a clock box with a titanium chronograph watch for him (unfortunately, not the one he really wants, but hopefully it will do!), a ring for me, and a proposal I wrote in poetry. I have butterflies and am very nervous! I sure hope he says YES!
